Hello Reader,

Starting the week off with a WIN is vital to good health, as it sets a positive tone, energizes the mind and body, and fosters a sense of motivation.

Let’s get this week moving with purpose, joy, and a little inspiration at every step.

"The simple act of walking has the power to change your life—physically, emotionally, and creatively."
– From Walking for Health and Fitness by Frank S. Ring

Step 1: Walking in Warmer Weather – 3 Smart Acclimation Tips

Temps are rising, so here’s how to walk strong in the heat:

1. Time it Right – Walk early morning or late evening when it’s cooler.

2. Hydrate Up – Drink 8 oz of water 30 minutes before your walk.

3. Dress Smart – Light-colored, breathable fabrics + a hat or visor = comfort city.

Ease into it and let your body adapt over a week or two!

Easy Health Tip of the Week

Chocolate milk.
Yep, that old-school post-workout trick still works. It’s got the perfect carb-to-protein ratio to refuel muscles, replace lost glycogen, and support recovery.
Bonus: It’s deliciously motivating to have waiting in the fridge!

Step 2: The Power of a Plan- New YouTube Shorts

I've launched a new YouTube Shorts series based on one of the most important lessons from Walking Works Blueprint—having a plan is what separates dreamers from doers.
Check out this quick-hit video series to see how just a few simple steps can make walking automatic—even on your busiest days.

Step 3: Pre-Walk Tip – Foot & Ankle Rolls

Before you walk, do this simple move:

· Stand or sit and rotate each ankle in a slow circular motion—5 circles clockwise, 5 counterclockwise.

· Picture your big toe drawing the circle in the air.

This warms up the tendons and boosts joint mobility so your steps feel smoother and safer.

From my “Stretching for Health and Fitness” program—simple, effective, and all done standing!

Did You Know?

Walking boosts creativity.
A Stanford study found that creative output increases by an average of 60% when walking versus sitting. That’s why some of the greatest minds in history—like Steve Jobs and Beethoven—scheduled walking sessions to brainstorm ideas.

So if you’ve got a problem to solve or a big idea brewing—take it for a walk.

Step 4: I’ve Got a Facebook Author Page!

Big news—I’ve created a dedicated Facebook Author Page where I’ll be posting behind-the-scenes content about my books, the writing process, walking habits, inspiration, and a whole lot more. It’s a hub for all things walking + wellness.
